You can also create a random seating assignment for students arranged in a grid layout. The pop-up is divided into two sections: Room Options and Student Options. Click on the Seating Chart page to open this pop-up.
Managing Grid Layout Seating Charts

Click to switch between Grid Blocks or Free Movement seating chart arrangements. Free Movement allows you drag and drop student photos into any classroom arrangement. Grid blocks creates an arrangement with rows and columns. Free movement allows you to place students in any configuration as long as student photos do not overlap. |
| Shuffle | Click to arrange students randomly. This option is only available when Grid Blocks Layout is selected. |
| Sort Asc | Click to sort students in ascending order by last name. This option is only available when Grid Blocks Layout is selected. |
| Sort Dec | Click to sort students in decending order by last name. This option is only available when Grid Blocks Layout is selected. |
| Clear All | Click to move all students from the Seating Chart to the Unplaced Students drawer. |
| Close | Click to close the Manage Seating Chart Options pop-up. |
Rows
Enter the number of rows for your class. This field only displays when defining a Grid Blocks layout.
Columns
Enter the number of columns for your class. This field only displays when defining a Grid Blocks layout.
Background
Select the background to display behind the student photographs.
